About Lycrafleece Material

Lycrafleece is a Lycra Spandex 3-ply laminate, designed for luxurious comfort and impressive durability. The Lycra Spandex gives the material the ideal amount of stretch to support the thumb without pulling on it while the polyester lining material wicks moisture away from the skin to stop sweat or heat from building up under the thumb brace. This remarkable material is soft, durable, elasticated and extremely breathable.

What Joints Does This Spica Provide Support To?

As you can see in the image below, this support specifically provides stabilisation to the CMC and MCP joint in the thumb, leaving the IP joint free to flex. This spica provides gentle support to the wrist but does not support any of the joints in the fingers.

Strong support . Velcro seems more robust than previous type of support which I had to hold together with elastic bands.

Used to reduce pain after activity
14 July 2023  |

This type of support was suggested by the hospital physiotherapist for my joints (index and thumb) affected by osteoarthritis.
I use them for resting the joints after a period of activity and find them very effective at reducing pain.
