How Easy Is This Thumb Brace to Apply and Remove?

Thanks to the hook-and-loop fastenings and the slightly stretchy material this thumb support is extremely easy to put on or take off. It's been designed for people with limited mobility and can be easily donned or adjusted one-handed.

Will This Thumb Brace Interfere With Daily Tasks?

One of the biggest advantages of this lightweight yet sturdy thumb support is that it leaves your fingers free to perform essential day-to-day tasks. The adjustable hook-and-loop fastenings mean you can personally tailor this brace for an ideal fit that prevents any flaps of loose material getting in the way.

What Are the Benefits of a Thumb Spica Splint?

Splinting facilitates the immobilisation and stabilisation of the joint in question, helping to promote healing and protect from further injury. One advantage of using a thumb splint instead of a cast is that splints accommodate swelling thanks to their elasticity. In addition to this, elasticated splints also provide compression that increases circulation to the injured area, reducing swelling and assisting with rehabilitation.

What Makes Neoprene the Ideal Material for Thumb Supports?

Neoprene is regularly used in orthopaedic supports because of its excellent insulation, durability and soft texture. Neoprene's mildly elasticated properties make it ideal for pressure redistribution, spreading the weight equally across the length of the support. In addition, it is also highly effective at absorbing shear force, protecting the injury from being bumped and jostled during daily tasks.

I believe I made the correct decision choosing this splint. It arrived by next post and is a quality item but not to bulky. Only worn it once but it definitely helped. Am waiting to see my GP so that I can check how long I should wear the splint each time.
